Forbes' 40 Richest Malaysians

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

Alhamdulillah, according to Forbes, the 40 richest Malaysians have added $3 billions compare to last year into the list and now we have 10 billionaires in Malaysia. We have two sons of former PMs listed among the richest. We have 8 Malays, 28 Chinese and 4 Indians in the list. The youngest is Vinod Sekhar at the age of 40. He has since been listed at the age of 37.

These 40 richest own more than $46 billions or RM148 billions! Surely we have other rich Malaysians who are not listed here. If they all pay their taxes and zakat yearly and the money is distributed appropriately to the poor, needy and necessary development, surely Malaysia will be prosperous and at peace. If just these 40 richest pay their corporate tax of 26%, that would be RM39 billions for the government to spend on, just from 40 businessmen and this is just one form of tax we are talking here.

I went on to compare this with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia or LHDN (HASIL) to find out the total taxes that it has collected every year. To my great disappointment that the latest annual report from this board is 2005, no later than this. In the 2005 report, LHDN has collected RM56.85 taxes and it was projected that RM69 billions would be collected in 2007. The corporate tax on those 40 richest Malaysians has already preceded more than half if we are to take the same figure for 2008. Are the rest of millions other Malaysians poor or many are not paying taxes? Or rather, 60% muslim Malaysians pay zakat and not income tax to LHDN?
"Your wealth and your children are only a trial, whereas ALLAH, with HIM is a great reward" - Al-Quran, Surah At-Taghabun, verse 15.
At-Taghabun can mean the mutual disillusion or loss & gain. In verse 9, the word at-taghabun is used to describe the Day of Judgement. It is to remind us that all the wealth in this world has no use in the akhirah and our children that we give them channels to gain more wealth also will have no use to us on that Day. Wealth and children, are they losses or gains? Wealth (or excess money beyonds necessity) is to be shared not to be cumulated and counted. Stingy in Arabic has the same meaning as constipation. You keep those dirty and unwanted stuff in your intestines. Eventually, it will poison your stomach. Same to wealth that we don't need after we have fulfill our needs to live a life that enable us to worship ALLAH. Having only one child that is righteous and submit to ALLAH is better than having 10 children who corrupt the world.

Will Mahathir win?

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

I think Mahathir is doing a great favour for Pak Lah who dare not do this in his authority. This here means kicking out Mahathir's men from UMNO, or basically clean UMNO from people that doesn't support him or those who remain loyal to Mahathir since the era of Mahathir.

Think about this, Mahathir resigned from UMNO and he urges UMNO members to follow suit. Who will listen to his urge if not his men? So, if they all resign from UMNO, I mean those who really support and loyal to Mahathir, won't that make it all easy for Pak Lah to cleanse UMNO, once and for all! We can see that in this new cabinet, already Pak Lah is doing his job in kicking out Mahathir loyalists.

If the mass resignation of Mahathir's men happened and Pak Lah stays cool until December, when the UMNO election comes or when the branch meeting starts in July, there will be more than 30% (cut off those who resign following Mahathir) support for Pak Lah since many others lost their right to vote against Pak Lah. Ku Li might be able to get a chance to compete but Ku Li's supporters are mostly Mahathir's men too.

If Pak Lah being patient until all the Mahathir's supporters or Pak Lah's haters resign and loose their right to vote against Pak Lah, he might still stand a chance to be in power after the UMNO election.

So, my dear 4th PM of Malaysia, you are making the wrong move because Pak Lah can already see the route to check mate! If he can't, I bet the 4th floor kids can. Pak Lah just has to be a little bit more patient. If he lost his patient, you might have a chance to win. We'll see, we'll see.

ALLAHU'alam.

Wassalam.

Pak Lah is winning

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

Sayuti (MSO) in his blog mentioned that the reason for Mahathir to resign from UMNO while his son, Mukhriz stays is because they are planning a 2 ways attack on Pak Lah so that Pak Lah will fire Mukhriz and the pair will get sympathetic support from members of UMNO.

Unfortunately, up until now, this doesn't seem to be working. Probably Mahathir forgets that Pak Lah is NOT like Mahathir. He is softer than Mahathir, gentler, quieter, slower, steadier, more patient, he always tries his best to offend as least people as possible, he always tries to win the hearts like how he treated Tok Guru when he visited Tok Guru, holding Tok Guru's hand and showing respect.

Maybe Pak Lah really wants to kick Mahathir out of UMNO but he waited until Mahathir quits himself. If Pak Lah kicked Mahathir out, surely everyone will condemn Pak Lah and label him as ungrateful to Mahathir who hand-picked him to become PM. Pak Lah must be rejoicing in his heart, that's why he said nothing about Mahathir resignation.

It is the hearts of the people that Pak Lah is up to and Mahathir is way behind Pak Lah in this aspect. Mahathir has done lots of good to the country but he always lost in winning people's hearts. He can build this and that but in doing so, he usually trashed people. People listened to him but it doesn't mean that he won people's hearts. It is because most of the time, people feared him. We have Rafidah crying for him when he announced his retirement from PM but today Rafidah condemned that Mahathir is being disloyal to UMNO. Back then in 2003, did Rafidah's heart really go with Mahathir?

Mukhriz's not quitting

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

I knew it, I knew it, I knew that Mukhriz is not going to quit UMNO cos if he quited now, he is soooooooo going to be defeated in the UMNO Youth Chief election in December. Not gonna let Khairy, Khir Toyo and Pahang MB to win this post.

On the other hand, on Mahathir's blog, he is proposing that BN MPs to become FROGS - jump out of BN so that BN will loose the majority to form a government but the FROGS should not join Pakatan Rakyat, rather they should be independent until Pak Lah is no more in power and later JUMP back into BN so that UMNO can still be in-charged of the country. By then, Malaysia will be in serious trouble with very instable political situation, who is going to invest in Malaysia at that time?

When Mahathir talks about FROG MPs, it's alright but when Anwar is talking about it, it's completely immoral. Both claim to be doing it for the sake of the country. I wonder if these FROG MPs who are listening to Mahathir will get anything from him or his ally? Payment for 3 generations to be rich?

Mahathir quits UMNO

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

If you are not a member of an organisation, you basically have no right to do anything about that organisation. Have you thought about this before you took that challenge of Ismail?

If you demanded Pak Lah to quit the position of the president of UMNO, your voice is not a member's voice. If you demanded Pak Lah to quit the chairman of BN, again your are not the member of any of the component parties (MIC, perhaps?). If you demanded Pak Lah to quit the PM position, you are only speaking as a Rakyat now, timid and unheard, why not join the Pakatan Rakyat?

So, you can descend from the public now since you are no one at the moment until you said you will join back UMNO after Pak Lah quits.

Btw, what is your principle of Chipsmore biscuit - kejap ada kejap tak ada - that you think can resolve UMNO's problem? Maybe you want to give Pak Lah a peaceful mind to run UMNO and the country until December. I bet Pak Lah must be jumping up and down at home when he got the news of your resignation. As a president of an organisation, he has to take care of the welfare of all the members. Since this stubborn and difficult member opts to withdraw his membership, won't a president be happy?

Anyway, I heard that your membership number is 000 001, so you are the first member of UMNO BARU which is formed in 1988. You guys are younger than the rest of the component parties in BN, how come you guys still lead BN? If you are in the REAL UMNO that fought for independence since 1946, surely member number 000 001 is the late Onn Jaafar, right? So, happy 20th anniversary to UMNO BARU!

You are making this whole thing easy now for Pak Lah by quitting. Is this your objective?

ALLAHU'alam.

Wassalam.

p/s: is Mukhriz going to join this too or is he too afraid to loose his chance to compete in the UMNO Youth? Let's see...

Sedition

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

As many have known that the Blogger King - King Petra or Raja Petra Kamarudin who is now under the risk of being charged under the Sedition Act for his honest and personal posting of an on-going murder court trial, it is seen yet again another political game to weaken the opposition though RPK said he is not supporting the opposition. Let's have a look at the meaning of sedition according to a dictionary website. It means:
1.incitement of discontent or rebellion against a government.
2.any action, esp. in speech or writing, promoting such discontent or rebellion.
Anything that promotes rebellion or goes against the government is sedition. The famous wikipedia can only list 3 countries that practice sedition act namely US, Singapore and Malaysia! According to the act under section 3(1) (a), any act defined as having a seditious tendency to bring into hatred or contempt or to excite disaffection against any Ruler or against any Government. It literally means that no one can go AGAINST the Ruler and Government, even showing tendency and intention. In this case, I think many Malaysians can be easily charged under this act, not just bloggers and opposition newspaper reporters, not just RPK and not just this one article on the murder trial. What about the 'Pak Lah sleeping beauty' photos on websites and even on banners during the election? What about Imam Hadhari - ada had ada hari campaign on blogs? What about the Terengganu state assemblymen who went against the Ruler? What about going against Selangor Ruler's will to marry his princess secretly abroad?

Probably it's this act that Samy Velu failed to protect the Hindu temple from the demolition by the Selangor GOVERNMENT cos stopping it is against the Selangor Government. Probably it's this act that MCA & MIC are so tame under UMNO cos it's against the the Government if they go against UMNO's president who happens to be a bumiputra, a muslim, the BN Chair and the PM, the Head of the Government, most importantly. Probably it's this act that Lina Joy will never win her case cos it's seditious to go against the Rulers who protect the religious affair. Probably it's this act that Perak MB has to apologise to the Ruler for 'firing' Jamry cos it's against the Ruler and the Federal Government.

So, if Khir Toyo on his blog has any tendency to go against and to spread hatred toward the Selangor GOVERNMENT, can we charge him with this act too? What about other UMNO's new bloggers who speak against the opposition GOVERNEMTs? Ops, sorry, these are not GOVERNMENT, right, in the eyes of the Federal Government?

Ok, what about Chedet who is bringing hatred toward Pak Lah, the PM and the Head of the GOVERNMENT through his campaign on bringing down and go against the PM? Can we bring Chedet down with this act too? If so, come on Karpal, let's open a file and charge him so that the GOVERNMENT will learn a lesson and do not abuse this act.

Oh no, we can't do that, they are the INFALLIBLE and PROTECTED ones, even under the Australian law!

ALLAHU'alam.

Wassalam.

p/s: will I be charged too? :S

UMNO's blogs

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

When I look at the blogs of the UMNO's leaders (those newly created after the recent election), I can't help wonder who designed the layout for them, especially the Header banner. I am not saying that they are ICT-illiterated, but it really takes a lot to do the Header banner if you don't know how to use any graphic designing tool like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Illustrator or any sort of technology similar to these. I can't help finding similarities between their blogs. See Khir Toyo, Ali Rustam, Muhammad Muhd Taib and Mahathir.

How many bloggers can design that type of Header banner? See Rocky's Bru, Marina Mahathir, Nuraina A Samad, etc., very simple.

Of course, the contents of what they are writing are really from these UMNO's leaders. My point is, is this a collective initiave by UMNO after they woke up from the political tsunami? Can they still say negative statements about the bloggers as some of them used to say?

Anwar is the top 100 Times Most Influential People

Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh,

It is announced that Anwar Ibrahim is at 85th rank of the 2008 Times 100 Most Influential People. This puts him well above Bush, Blair, Rice and even the Dalai Lama. Since there's no other Malaysian in the list, so is he the most influential people in Malaysia?
